A Special Mystery Trip

Just a reminder that our upcoming Mystery Trip will take place on February 18! We will carpool from Church of the Lakes, departing promptly at 11:00 a.m. Drivers will receive directions to our first destination at that time.

Our first stop will be lunch, and gluten-free options are available. Please contact me in advance if you require a special menu.

After lunch, drivers will be given instructions to our next surprise location. A $5 contribution is encouraged at that stop. The day will involve very little walking, making it an easy and enjoyable outing for everyone.

A sign-up sheet will be available at our February 11 meeting, with a registration deadline of Friday, February 13.

It’s a perfect opportunity to get out of the house and enjoy a fun day together — we hope you’ll join us!

African American Fashion Icons

Image 1.jpeg

Our February 25 program will feature “African American Fashion Icons,” presented by Dr. Tameka Ellington.

Dr. Ellington was selected by the McKinley Presidential Museum to coordinate a special museum exhibit dedicated to African American history. Her presentations are highly sought after, and we are truly fortunate to welcome her to speak with our group.

In celebration of African American History Month, this program offers a wonderful opportunity to learn about the influence and legacy of African American fashion icons throughout history.

As always, our meeting will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. with refreshments, followed by this engaging and informative presentation.

All members are welcome, and guests are always encouraged — we love meeting new friends and are continually welcoming new members.

Great Decisions

This is a small discussion group that meets by Zoom from January to May. The topics are nonpartisan and although we don't always agree we are better informed after our discussion.

Discuss the most critical issues facing America today.

Great Decisions is produced by the Foreign Policy Association, which has been encouraging nonpartisan discussion on U.S. foreign policy for over 100 years. The program gives citizens the opportunity to learn about some of the most critical global issues facing America today. After the program, the FPA gathers participants’ feedback to create a national opinion ballot report, which is shared with members of Congress.
